Asunder 13
It was a great age for man, great works of architecture, of agriculture, of science, were being made. Works of construction unequaled by Egypt , Mycenaean, or even Greek were being built, castles and multi-story homes. The farms had sophisticated irrigation, water brought down by canals and channels from the mountain. Ships that rivaled those of all other navies roamed the waters, guarding the shores and protecting the Island from marauders.
An understanding of crystals, of harmonics, of reflection and of energy grew; man had learned so much. Farms not only provided food for the cities, but undertook breeding programs, which produced better livestock, cows, horses, ponies. We were born there, in that great time, born in the farms, in the great lands, an honor to science and the wonders that could be done. We were born as slaves, as servants, to tend the farms, to serve our lords. We walked in the shadow of man’s creations without freedom.
Our owners gave us names. Names burned and painted onto our flanks, so others could identify us, could know us at a glance. Since we didn't need clothing, and often our colors looked similar, they couldn’t tell us apart without our marks. To prove it could be done, we gave birth to unicorns, to Pegasus, but by far the earth ponies were the most common. Our numbers grew, but we were their pride, their joy, to show they were beyond other men. We were bought and sold, but always kept on the Island .
It didn't stop there though; man sought more power, greater things. They sought a source of infinite energy, and infinite power. They created huge crystals in the center of the Island , to tap power… some called it magic, others science, others a challenge to the Gods themselves. In the end they paid for it. They taped into a great source of power, but could not control it. The more they thought they could, the more the danger grew, ‘till finally it happened.
It was as if the earth itself screamed in protest. The more power they drew, the more it screamed. Lightning, fire and earth rained down. Many humans died instantly. Those that could, took to the waters, as the ships tried to flee the island. We were expendable though; we were left behind, abandoned by our owners who only sought to save themselves from their own hubris. The sky turned dark, and the earth groaned. Then night turned to day again.
We awoke without our masters… the humans were all gone, or dead… many of us had died as well but there were still enough to survive… enough to start a new life, and so we did. Most of what man built was gone, but in its wake, we began to build our own. We chose to keep some of their culture, their history as our own, but we knew we would build our own world now. The island, the lands, everything within several days’ walk had been transported to this world. Without man, we could start over. Free. We are not humans, we are ponies.
Lilly closed the book, the glow in her horn fading as she finished reading. Looking to the earth ponies she saw Sweetheart and Clover just shivering. Teddy did his best to comfort Sweetheart, and Ace hugged Starlight.
"Wow," Rarity, another unicorn, said blinking and looked up at Lilly. "I never knew."
Lilly nodded "These books date back to ancient times. This is from a journal of the oldest book."
"All for power…" Happyglow said quietly.
* * * * *
"I think the new calculations should work… we should be able to control the energy flow much better." Dr Zular said nodding.
"When can we try a full power test? Bringing 2.5 giga-watts is impressive, but I would like to see it producing 25 giga-watts," the director stated.
"I'm not sure, maybe 2 months."
The Director nodded "Good, see to it. With this we could usher in a whole new era for mankind, space travel, smaller clean submarines, and cheap energy for cars and houses. We could corner the energy markets."
Dr Zular headed back to the labs, while the director paced his office. "Now all we need is to ensure the little ponies don't cause us trouble…"

Wow, you write fast! I just can't keep up. lol! I'm caught up now, though. Love the new parts, as usual! ^-^
They were watching X-men! Awesome! XD I love how Teddy's being all protective of Sweetheart. That's so cute!

I see a jealous Sweetheart prediction here You know I think it would be very funny and confusing if they would go cross Ponyville and the would meet whit Stawberry Swirl since Strawberry Swirl almost looks like the same as Sweetheart just their cutie mark and their eyes color are different. |

Hehe, thats what I did with stardancer, remember she's a unicorn twin for sweetheart. even her hip mark is "simular", dancing shoes and 3 stars in the same patern and colors as sweethears heart patern |

I almsot forgot to read 12. I am "hyper" too after reading this part! Hey I may not be Melodey but I still sing better then Brighteyes. Hehe, this is breaking the forum rules? Nah. it is awesome! ^^ Oh its so extraspeically pretty." Sweetheart said looking around wide eyed. I have seen all the episodes of MLPT, ans seriously, I have never heard Sweetheart say "extraspeically", ever! Patch pointed at the tv, "The blue guy with the tail, talking to the female with red and white hair, he kinda sounds like Ace doesn't he? Oh my!! ROFLMAO! *hands over award* You win again! |

Agent Roberson leaned back in his chair looking at the monitor, cup of coffee cooling beside him, the office was busy today with staff shuffling paperwork and holding impromptu meetings in the halls. Glancing over he nodded to Kassandra, who was handling a string of homicides that crossed 4 state lines.
"Something wrong Tom?"
"It's this ComSen case, with the terrorist. I've been looking at his profile and it doesn't fit."
Standing up she walked over looking at the files "Dr of vet meds, graduated mid class, high school seemed normal, scouts..."
"Email correspondence, nothing of interest, no blog, no facebook. Phone calls were around school for his daughter, pizza places, Chinese food. Not a vegetarian, shopping was done in big buy stores and supermarkets."
"And?" Kassandra leaned down calling up his bank records.
"Well, none of the animal rights groups support chimerical meat farming, yet he goes for meat lovers pizzas. He's got no hits to animal rights pages, closest hes ever been to supporting any animal group was donating to a horse rescue farm. Now it might explain why he took 2 horses from the company but even thats a stretch."
"He doesn't fit the profile for someone to want to carry out biological attacks, or even really to steal the animals in the first place." Kassandra said shaking her head.
"Yeah thats whats wrong. Now he is on the run, he did take the horses but motive we were given doesn't match the profile."
"Horses, horses... Tom down in the hacking department had something on that." Kassandra said heading over to her computer.
"Not the case on the 21 pony's poisoned was it?"
"No, I heard about that one, I'm still putting my money on deliberate poisoning there, probably to remove that team from the... OK got it. Hes been working on trying to figure out how a security camera was hacked at a Best Buy store. Camera had one thing going on, that none of the store staff even remember."
"Drugs?" Tom chuckled.
Kassandra walked over and called it up on Toms computer "Nope, camera wasn't on drugs."
Tom blinked, looking at the camera footage of 4 ponies, walking around a store on their hind legs, shopping for electronics, one of them wearing a satchel, and one with wings. "Well thats different, you would think the staff would notice that."
"I know, seriously, now the staff remembers 4 people there, 2 girls, a guy, all teens, and an older woman. They paid cash for some 600 dollars in electronics, so he took notice, but, the video image doesn't match." Kassandra said. "So its down in the computer lab to track down, someones done some nice hacking. If they can do that, then alot of security systems could be at risk."
"Where was that store?" He called up the city map looking at it humming.
"Over here." She pointed to the map, "What are you thinking?"
"Oh, nothing, I'm just curious. Call up traffic cam umm... 218w, no 218e wrong side, time stamp it for plus or and minus 10 min of the time they were in the store, sec I'm putting it on the big monitor, easier to see."
Kassandra sat on the desk looking up, "You just like excuses to use the 52 inch plasma."
"Yeah, its...." Tom blinked seeing the 4 ponies walk out of the store and head down the street.
"Hacked the street cam's too. Thats supposed to be a secure system."
Tom smiled and spun in the chair once with a chuckle.
Kassandra looked down at him raising an eyebrow "What?"
"Look at the store feed again. They bought a cell phone."
* * * * *
Starlight paced quietly, "The first settlers came to pony land because they wanted a new life, without bounds. A chance to be free, Its likely that some of the earth ponies went there, because they wanted to get as far away from the memories of what the humans did as passable."
Ace nodded slowly "I know I wouldn't want to be forced into something I had no love for."
Star dancer blinked looking at Ace, "So they left to get away from the class system, that we kept because of what?"
"Training? Expectations? Convenience here. Or simply that for the first while, people needed to do jobs like that, and didn't change off them."
Sweetheart nodded looking at Stardancer "I'm really and truly sorry Stardancer."
"For what? Our culture? Don't be, but this is different."
Lilly walked over putting the book away on the shelf and pulled down a 2nd one, "So we were originally slaves to the humans, and came here by accident or fate."
Rarety blinked "Whats a slave?"
"Its a pony who..." Starlight blinked trying to figure out how to explain this.
Lilly looked to Rarity "Its someone who isn't allowed to do anything they want ever, they are forced to do what their owner says or are punished. Eat, sleep, work, when they are told to. With no hope of ever being free to choose for themselves."
Rarity blinked, "how awful."
"Whats worse is, the effect that caused the apocalypse that sent us here from earth, may be happening again." Ace said. "And this time It could send humans here, or us to the human world in mass."

Teaches me for using a spellchecker with names around... LOL Its correct on the origional, but after i tried using the spellchecker on proboards it changed it... I had to go back through fixing names. |

It's cool how you made Tom get all excited over the cell phone buy! ^^ Yep, cellphone gives them a phone number, GSM phones used in the states can be tracked by Simcard number, or cellphone number. They can also tell you where they are being used, even if just turned on, down to a few hundred yards. |
