Asunder 3
Jing-a-ling sat up looking around, the animal cage she was in, was bearly large enough for her to stand up in, her sister lay beside her still curled in a ball asleep. Creeping forward a bit she looked out through the bars, rows of cages could be seen on the other side of the room, with different animals in them, and down the center of the room, 2 large tables with strange things on them.
Dr Mitchael walked by, stoping to look at Jing-a-ling and Ting-a-ling, "Morning little one, sorry about the accomidations but we don't normally care for anything as large as horses here."
Jing-a-ling backed up scared from the human, having never seen anything like it, "Where's Melodey, where's mama."
Dr Mitchael droped the binder he was holding looking at the foal, "You can talk, how? why?"
Jing-a-ling stayed shivering partly hiding behind her sister "I want melodey, I want to go home."
Walking over to the fridge he took out a bottle of milk, and carefully opening the cage he set the bottle on the floor close to the twins, sitting on the floor infront of Jing-a-ling, "Its ok, I won't hurt you."
He watched curiously as Jing-a-ling reached forward picking up the bottle with her forleg and sniffed at it before taking a drink, "Hungery."
"What do you eat?" He watched her staying low trying not to seem intimidating, noting her movements the way she sat and held the bottle, how she talked.
"Food." Jing-a-ling awnsered honestly still hiding.
Dr Mitchael chuckled softly, "What kind of food, little one, and whats your name? I'm carl."
"I Jing-a-ling, this Ting-a-ling. Carrots?"
Nodding slowly he got some carrot chunks from the stores for the rabbits and brought them over setting them into a metal bowl and sitting them infront of the twins. "Here you go Jing-a-ling." It too a little work to understand her accent, it almost had a european sound to it.
Jing-a-ling ate quickly, watching the human.
* * * * *
"What exactly are humans?" lancer decreaced power to the boat stoping it out on the open ocean.
Patch tilted her head looking at brighteyes, hoping she knew. "Yeh."
Brighteyes shook her head, being uncomfortable not having at least a vague knowlage of something "Its not a term or animal I've heard before. I even looked in all my books, and on the computer."
The deck of the Lancer familly Yacht lit up, as a large glowing sphere aproached the, quickly lancer moved for the boats helm but Patch stoped him with a hand on his flank "Its ok Lancer, they are here."
"The humans?" Lancer asked looking her nervously.
"No silly, thats Brightglow." Patch called out, "Over here!"
Brightglow and Dazzleglow materialized from the shimmering sphere, and looked at the 3 earth ponies. Brightglow folded her wings against her side standing up on her hind legs she opened a bag taking out 4 heart shaped gems. Carefully she handed one Lancer, Patch, and Brighteyes, "These are called heart crystals, keep them with you at all times, they will let you appear as a human in their world."
Dazzleglow nodded to them "Lancer, when your ready I will open the portal for you, you'll need to bring the boat straight though, since none of you can fly."
Lancer nodded looking at the crystal, then at Brighteyes "Are you ready?"
Brighteyes nodded then nodded to patch. "Yes Lancer, Jing-a-ling and Ting-a-ling must be so scared."
Dazzleglow launched herself into the air, horn glowing. Slowly a fog raised from the water, thick, dark, the smell of ozone filled the air, Brightglow put her forleg on Lancers shoulder, "Alright, lets go."
Lancer started the yacht forward, looking down he saw compas starting to swing wildy. Entering the fog bank, the compas spun like a top, the radio and radar crackled with static, lights in the pilot house dimmed as the mists enveloped the ship. After a few moments the ship lost all power, engines stoping, and everything went quiet as the yacht drifed though the fog bank. "Its dead, it won't start."
Brightglow shook her head "We are almost through, give it a moment."
Slowly the sun came into view, the fog and mists slowly faded behind the yacht, lights and power flickered back on, the boats radar began is sweeps again, and radio came back to life.
"I think we made it," Lancer breathed a sigh of relief...
"Unidentified boat, This is the US Coast Guard Vessle Valiant, you are entering United State territorial waters without being flagged. Heave to and prepair to be boarded."

I like!! ^_^ Great story kitsy! Dr. Mitchael is just the guy needed to make this story great! He's arc (4), vet and his daughter... havn't introduced his daughter yet. I'm one of those writers that does research for stories... the ship i mention, is an actual coast guard cutter based out of miami florida for example. |

"Lancer."
"Say again ensign", the captain looked over to the bridge lookout.
"I think thats what it says sir. Scripts a little hard to read on the stern, but it looks like Lancer with a Pair of Flur du France's", the ensign looked over at the captain. "She just powering up now, she was dark a moment ago."
"I can't explain it sir, weather has no reason for fog banks, and radar was clean a moment ago." The radar operator looked up from his set, "I still can't find that refugee boat though, I have a tanker 18.2 knotical miles south east of us holding course at 12 knots... Its the Oceana sir, so the refugee ship should be just south of her."
"Is the moter launch ready?" the captain looked over.
"Aye sir, but the oceana reported the refugee boat taking on water and listing."
Taking his binoculars her looked out over the boat, "She's not making a run for it, to big for drug runners, likely a french tourest boat out of the islands, sometimes they forget their flags up. If she's docking customs will get her, she can't dock at any of the smaller harbours.", shaking his head the captain looked over "Helm, make speed for 18 knots, dispatch the dolphin to the sight, its going to take us an hour just to get to the refugee boat and they can't wait."
The helms officer nodded "I always throught the bermuda triangle made ships vanish, not appear."
* * * * *
Starglow stood quietly by Starlight, as Sweetheart, Ace, Teddy, and clover just stared at her. Happyglow folded her wings tighter to her side, looking shyly at them, taking a step behind starglow.
Starlight took a breath "Ok, Patch and Brighteyes are with Lance on his yacht, their parents think they are out for a trip for fun, but they are going to see if they can get Jing-a-ling and Ting-a-ling. Starglow and Happyglow need our help for research of some kind, I know this is normally Brighteyes specialty but she's needed to help with Brightglow. This is totally secret, we can't let our parents know the trueth."
Sweetheart sighed "I really and truely want to help, I do, but I don't know if I can lie to my parents."
Teddy stood up on his hind legs "Thats ok Sweetheart, I'll lie to them for you."
Ace konked Teddy in the side, once, sending him back to all 4's and clover blinke "Teddy..."
"What? I was going to tell them we all got invited to the Meadowsweet farm again."
They all blinked once looking at Teddy, Starlight looked at Sweetheart "You know, thats not actually a bad idea."
"Well he had to have a good idea sometime." Ace said with a chuckle, only to get glared at by Teddy.
"I don't see you coming up with any."
Bon Bon came running up panting and stoped laying down the large schoolbag, "Sorry, mom's with melodey and her mom, there both still pretty shaken up, then I had to stop by my house and pick up the snacks."
Starlight nodded slowly "Ok so its settled, everyone let your parents know we are going to the Meadowsweet farm, we can meet back here tomorrow morning."
Everyone piped in at once "Right!"
* * * * *
"Right?"
"I'm sorry director, I ment to say understand." Dr Zular look Down nervously, "See, zero point or vaccume energy is very hard to deal with. It involves the superstring theory as well harmonics..."
"Get to the point Docter, you are trying my patients" The director stood walking to the window, looking down over the city, "I will need something that the Senit oversite commity will understand, since they are funding part of this project."
"Well litterly, we pulled mater through instead of just energy, but the troubling thing is we pulled life through, meaning we have taped into a dimention thats inhabited. Sifting through the dirt we found several gold stamped coins, as well as a length of copper cabling with Rubber shielding, leads me to belive its an intelligent and at least partly advanced society."
"And this affects us how?"
"Well sir, theres a question as to damaging the subspace layer, and adversly affecting their world." The docter took off his glasses to clean them, "Ethically..."
"Ehtically? At present few people know about this side effect, can you make it generate power or not."
"Well I could adjust the system slightly and begin calculations for a safer..."
"How long?" The director turned to look at him.
"Two, maybe 3 months."
"The Senit oversite comitty is looking at seeing this project in 2 days..."
"Impossable not without risking."
"Risking what? All we know so far is there MAY be intelligant life there, and they have equines. Prepair for a full power test for the comitty, and no mistakes this time. Once the comitty as satified, THEN we get more funding and you, can have your 3 months. Untill then, talk to no one."
"Yes sir."

Just love those clever tech details and dialogs XD Keep them coming! ^__^ Hehe, sorry couldn't resist a sceen where no one could belive teddy was right. and Hey, if no laws are violated, and if theres no laws covering it, all's fair right? thats the general view of most corperations. untill a law is make to stop them, they do it. |
