We know only this tidbit of her father: He works for a newspaper, but that's it. We don't know anything else about him or anything about her mother, which can lead fans to assume that she is absent from the picture, leaving the father to take care of Bright Eyes all by herself. Must be pretty tough, right? But if she is in the picture then my bad.

It probably is pretty tough, but because she showed absolutely no signs of emotional turmoil in the last episodes of the series, it probably happened in the distant past like you said. Again, she seems like the type of girl who learned what she knows from her Dad.

And could be a Daddy's girl at that. LOL But yeah, I did say in my fic that it happened when she was six.

Six sounds about right. She would have really bonded with her Dad after the devastating loss of her mom, and hence the Daddy's girl was born. Also, congrats, fellow Worshiper of Tales. 8)

Huh. Thought it would have been 200 posts. *shrugs* I guess it's 150. Oh well.
But then if you imagine Melody's mom marrying her dad...

That'd be pretty darn hilarious! Of course I've thought of it, but there are so many different takes on it. The sibling rivalry with Bright Eyes and Melody would be unrivaled, and all kinds of things they didn't know about each other, along with suddenly having to share everything after being alone for so long... That's one situation that has so much wiggle-room that it could be any genre, in the background or the main plot, or anything!

They'd probably have to move because there would be the mother, father, Bright Eyes, Melody, AND the twins!

Quite possibly! If Bright Eyes' dad was working the newspaper, I'd be willing to guess that they don't live in a mansion, but part of the interesting part could be all of the ponies cramming into just Melody's house.

Melody and Bright Eyes could share a room.
But yeah, I imagine Bright Eyes and her dad living in an apartment, disregarding the house she was living in. LOL

Haha, sounds possible! I've personally always seen Ponyland as a suburb where there really aren't any apartments, though. But again, apartments are good for the environment, so there's that.

And it's a cheap alternative.

I guess it is! It works better than I thought, then.

I wonder How Bright Eyes would be on Mother's Day assuming her mother were absent.
