She eats and drinks too... just act natural, Noteworthy...
I-I am? 0///0
I bet you would have said something sooner. You're dedicated to Tales too, so I knew you were coming back eventually. I bet you guys do have a wavelength. The Tales fandom was quite close back then, from what I've seen. 8)
You had good stories there, though. Dr. Ace was pretty adorable. 8) And you could basically pick out what you want for your headcanon because of how darn inconsistent the comics are with the show. They mention the Glow N' Shows, but everyone mentions them. Don't rush, either! That story of mine is on my backlog, because it's not even a third done but it sits at 90,000 words, and there's other stuff I can punch through sooner.
Ohmygosh thank you! *holds back urge to hug* Smuggling home an ice cream sounds like something Bon Bon would try to do. I saw the thread where Lancer posted the comics, but they were difficult to read, if even legible.

Bobdude - There will definitely be more to read from the comics over this week. Not sure how many of the comics themselves I will get up (my boyfriend and I are running a sports tournament this weekend, so my post-work evenings this week will consist of a lot of last minute planning, so the last thing I want to do is take pictures and edit them), but I do have a lot of stuff typed out at home. Once the tournament's done, I'll start putting up digital copies of the comics for you guys. I honestly don't remember if it was ever mentioned in the comics about Lancer's parents being away. I personally like to think of them as working for the Ponyland version of National Geographic! They take him whenever they can, but filming penguins in the Arctic is no place for a ten year old, so he gets left home a lot with the nanny. As for the question of where the show would have gone (can't comment on the DV cartoon as even though I watched it as a child, I barely remember any of it and have no real interest in going back to it; likewise I also have not watched any of the new FiM stuff): that question has been haunting me for my entire life! So many stories they could have told, so much back story we could have gotten... I don't know too much where they would have gone (aside from continuing to juggle school, fun, and family) but I'm pretty sure I'd do anything possible to have a summer camp special! I wrote a story where they're at one and have plans to write more scenes from that summer, but yeah, I'm obsessed with the idea of the kids going to summer camp. That would have been my dream! I also wanted to just get to know the characters and their stories better - what happened to Melody's dad? What are Ace's parents like? Will Patch ever get to meet her birth parents? Will Bon Bon ever develop an eating disorder? Will Teddy ever become a pirate?! Why does the Royal Family have a horse-drawn carriage (helloooo slavery!)?! As for the cosplay - my friend did take a video of Brad singing to us, but I think she may have lost it during a hard drive meltdown, sadly. And I can't sing so the most you could get would be me lipsynching, haha. Brad usually comes to fan conventions where I live, so the next time he does I'm seriously contemplating bringing him an Ace wig and ears so he can dress up with me.

Have fun at that tournament! 8) Once everything's planned, so many will be happy happy happy! The only scene in the show mentioning Lance's parents was in Happy Birthday Sweetheart; they were doing stuff at Shetland Springs. lancewing has more to say about Lancer than I do, though. That idea about National Geographic, though...! That one breeder in Pokemon Black 2 can say what I want to say better than I can. "I love your battle style. I'm gonna copy it!" It's fun coming up with episodes, but the euphoria of coming up with episodes falls when your realize that they'll never come to be... unless I can find George Arthur Bloom and he can write us some. Friendship's Treasure was so awesome! One thing you would have to write from there is Starlight swooning over Ace, because that would be hilarious. 8) What happened to Melody's dad? I wonder about that before I go to sleep at night. What are Ace's parents like? Your stories offer many possibilities, so I don't wonder as often. Will Patch meet her birth parents? Everyone wants to know that. Will Bon Bon develop an eating disorder? ...I thought we were serious here... In the FiM cartoon, the horse carriage carriers are getting paid for doing it; it's their job. But slavery also sounds possible. Princess Problems brought up so many issues, though. Slavery, Patch's parents, the relation between Patch and Rosy, the government uses magic... Do that! And then invite him to the fandom, and to get a YouTube channel, so we can hear his voice saying Acey things. That'd be a dream come true!

Kat: Our wavelength perseveres! ^-^ Crazy Ace: Nice to meet you!! bobdude: Aww, that's so great you got into Tales from mlptfan's videos! That's awesome! I'm so glad you saved them to your computer before they were taken down, too! Notes: Your enthusiasm for Tales (and this board) is inspiring! I hadn't been here in years and didn't even have the link on my computer anymore. I had actually completely forgotten about this board until I got your message! Oops. But yes, mlptfan and I have been married for two years now, and I even moved to Sweden for him. So cool to have met my soulmate through Tales! He isn't involved in the online community at all anymore, but he IS working on a pony game for me that we are hoping to eventually release. Tales characters are being used as the models for the ponies in the game. The only one we have at the moment is actually Melody, who is my least favorite character. But she has the most interesting hair, so...yeah. lol! My site is so old and embarrassing, too! I honestly can't believe people still go there and read my old stories! But it's really nice to hear that it is appreciated still to this day. ^-^ Anyway, I'm on vacation at the moment visiting my family and friends in the US for a month, so I might not be around much right now. But I will check in when I can!

Oh, wow, I had no idea that I inspired others like that! 8) I feel so loved!
Yeah, I can tell. Your last post was in what, 2010? But at least you're back now.
That's so awesome; have a very belated wish for the best! The post I found of yours on the Trading Post was about your moving to Sweden, and my second thought (after I HAVE TO TELL HER ABOUT THE SCHOOLHOUSE!) was whether you'd met mlptfan. Glad to hear that. And that's so cool that he's designing a game!
Any reason Melody's your least favorite? I think she's pretty awesome, and actually really nice when she's doing what she loves. She also wasn't mean to Ace over his crush, so kudos to her for that. (The end of Apple for Starlight and any time in Just for Kicks is a good example of this.) But again, you'd never understand my least favorite. X0
I like your site. It was good of you to update it in 2013, because that was one of the sparks that got me posting here. Every site is appreciated. (I actually use the Wayback Machine to view Yahoo! hosted sites. Even sites that haven't been online for three years still have love).
That's good for you. Please don't post here if it'll keep you from your family. (3

Yeah we were super close back in the day! I actually have a Christmas card I drew Teddy over ten years ago that I still need to mail to her, haha (sorry Muffinhead!). A good chunk of us still talk on LiveJournal though, but sadly I'm pretty much the only one who really writes anything anymore. Every few years we'd get a new person who comes along for a bit and injects some blood, but then disappears after a few months. I've been longing for someone new lately so it was like you answered my call! Plus you just seem more invested in actually discussing the characters, which I feel like no one has ever really had the same level of interest as I did in doing that. Oh wow man Dr. Ace... Glad you think that one was adorable but I'm having the hardest time re-reading it right now! Perhaps I should re-write it now that my writing doesn't completely suck. I have always been a sucker for Ace growing up into being a really good friend to others. I love him being a huge brat, but reformed brats are a super weakness for me. And yeah just saw Lancer's pictures of the comics. Mine will be much better, don't worry. I'll make you can read the text!

That's so cool! The LiveJournal group seemed pretty dead, and still does. Good thing you aren't going to be alone anymore, because now at least three of us (bobdude, lancewing and I) have written quite a bit. I answered your call? I didn't know you were the one with the 666 number who called my phone! 8P Eeyup! I love talking about the characters! Because my writing Constitution could basically be summed up as "Characterization," I love collecting new ideas and spreading my currently-accepted headcanons. I could write a book about them! I noticed the difference between the writing on your site and the stuff you have on LiveJournal. You're still as good as ever on characterization, but your writing style as improved. 8) That sounds lovely; the brat thing, I mean. I personally haven't focused on the boys as much as the girls in my writings because the fandom beat me to it, but Ace definitely can be a nice guy in the show... sort of. 8) Yay! c3

Starlight swooning over Ace at camp I can do! She is in the process of moving on (especially since he's finally dating Melody, which is of course super awkward for her) but she'll take any opportunity she can to interact with him. I'm actually writing a prequel of sorts to FT of Ace and Melody getting together (based on advice from Patch). Poor Starlight will be rather heartbroken during that one. And I am serious about Bon Bon developing an eating disorder! It's played up way more in the comics - there's a scene of her actually staring at herself in the mirror, upset that she's putting on weight. But she just binge eats everything, and that whole sneaking ice cream home so her friends don't see is a telling sign. It's actually something I keep meaning to write, but my other stories keep getting in the way. But now that I have a Bon Bon fan to read things, I might bump it back up on the list. I actually asked Brad what he would have liked to see for an episode of Tales, and he told me that he wanted to see Ace in outer space! I really should check to see if my friend still has the footage or not, because we did chat with him for quite a while. He was super excited to see some of the comics (I made sure to show him one where Ace rescues a baby pony at the beach, to prove he has a softer side!) and it just really warmed my heart to hear that he still loves Ace. It's one of his favourite characters still to this day.

Yay! 83 It sounds like it wasn't painstakingly obvious to just me that something was missing! Sounds just like poor Starlight, but at least she's not going to go on Operation Jealousy. Patch is just the type to give romantic advice too. Wow. I saw the first page of Hungry Bon Bon, which I presume is about that, and concluded that Patch was flirting with Bon Bon at first. (I happen to be a bit of a sucker for that ship because it works so well in canon context.) Then I realized that it was going to be a deep comic like The Masquerade. You'd really do that?! Do whatever you like, though. Everything you write is absolutely fantastic! <3 Ace in space...? Hm... (B I wonder how he would get there... (Ijustthoughtofachapterforoneofmystoriesgoodgravy). Seriously, though, I've noticed that some of the voice actors (now in their late 30s, Clover's being 40) are online, but I'm scared of Facebook. That is great, too, because he's definitely done more characters since he was 16. That's awesome to hear. Ace is going to save a baby at the beach? Dangit, you just gave me a oneshot idea in which Ting-A-Ling and Jing-A-Ling get in trouble at some point, Ace saves them, and Melody is grateful. Maybe that'll be in Mecklenburger Lights. Maybe.

Yeah sadly I really only have one friend on LJ who still reads my stuff (she and I actually have our own humanized version of Tales that we write about) so I don't really post half of what I write anywhere, except to her. But even her interest is moreso on my Ace and her OC (we actually have a few different storylines about them) so I can't ramble to her about the regular show anymore. So yeah, super happy that you're so into characterization! I do enjoy Lancewing's series, but they're so short and I yearn for longer works. We should definitely post all of our head canons!! I am dying to see the HC's of other people - I could write a book about mine as well. Actually I could write a book on just Ace - I have well over 20 different versions of him. And yeah, I'm mortified over how terrible my actual writing itself was back on those old pieces. I had started re-writing some of my old stories, and the realization of just how much better I am came when I started rewriting one about Ace's mom marrying a new guy and him getting step-siblings (it was called Changes - no idea if it was on my old site or if you'd read it) and I'm only into the first chapter and it's almost as long as the entire original story. I just used to gloss over so many things and I just can't write like that anymore. I have to detail everything. Ace definitely has his moments! But I'll write about those elsewhere otherwise you'll get a novel in this thread.

Haha funny you mention the twins! Not sure if you've ever seen the movie The Goonies (not sure how old you are, but I think you're young enough to potentially not know about it?) but I've just gotten re-obsessed with it and am in the process of planning a story based on that premise. It would be about Ace, Melody, and Bon Bon and their younger siblings hunting for treasure (I'd give Ace a little brother in the story, and use one of BB's younger siblings). Might throw in Teddy too, because I love the dynamic of playing him against Ace. But you should definitely write that oneshot!! Please. Don't make me beg you (because I totally will). As much as I love Ace and Starlight, Ace and Melody are my OTP from the show these days. So anything with those two interacting at all will make me happy. I had been contemplating writing him an Ace in space story - Ace and Brighteyes were going to win some national competition to send two young ponies into space as junior astronauts! Still in the planning stages though.

80 But I wanna read it! lB,
Before I attack your dear friend in her sleep, can you invite her over here so I can befriend her too? That's be pretty nice for everyone.
As it stands now, again, I have a 90,000 plus word story, but the chapters are normally between 1,000 and 2,000 words. Longer works, ah? 8) Characterization-heavy, I assure you. 8)
ALL of them? Oh goodness, that post would be an eternal void. But I might as well start mentioning them. )8,). I know you have a bunch of Aces. Isn't that why you have a picture of anthro Ace holding a soccer ball as your profile picture? 8<
I'm mortified when I look at my old FiM stories, too. Most of my Tales stories are somewhat up to scratch, though.
I'll look forward to that. 8)
Have you seen the Ace and Melody one right at the end of Apple for Starlight, in the last 30 seconds? It's so adorable! c3

Young? Younger than anyone else in this fandom. Sounds cool though, based on your summary of your story. I'll check both out. (And I'm SO GLAD you didn't forget about Bon's family. They never seem to come up.)
Ace and Teddy is a cool dynamic! Haven't done much on it, though, personally. )8,)
And sure. It'll be in the backlog. 8)
Sounds a heck of a lot cooler than anything I could have thought of. I'll look forward to it. 8)

I would invite her, but she's barely around these days and is pretty focused on other things sadly, so I know she wouldn't really be interested in posting here. But if she ever gets back into it, I'll tell her to come by. You need to post that story! Please! Do it soon! And yeah, I love anthro pony artwork. Sadly I'm not really friends with the girl who drew me all my anthro artwork (she had made awesome upper body shots of all the kids for my website years ago) but I still love the pieces. Makes me wish my art skills were better because there are so many pictures I would to have drawn! I love An Apple For Starlight! Ace actually being a little embarrassed at everyone heaping praise on him warms my heart. That scene is super cute! The Goonies is super cute!! One of my favourite movies. There's just the cutest dynamic between the main character and his older brother, I totally want to recreate that for Ace. I do enjoy writing him and Melody's twin brothers, though! They obviously idolize Ace. Same way I love to write Teddy and Bon Bon's younger brother, Rusty! Teddy could definitely be a cool older brother when he's a little older.

Okey dokey. (3 Ahah, I'll get on it. Right now I'm working on my Bons between the Stars big meaty review, but afterwards, I'll supercharge my inspiration. 8) I'v never gotten into anthros myself, but I suppose they're cool. The ponies in Tales are practically anthros as-is. 8) I'm sure you're just being insecure. All artists seem to be. 8) Did you notice Melody's expression? It's what really makes the scene, in my opinion. It's so cyoote! Sounds good! I'll have to watch it if I have two spare hours of free time in the next week. 8) Eeyup for Teddy, though unlike in your Siblings fic, I don't think Rusty would idolize Teddy. His parents obviously raised him well, so I could imagine him holding his awesome dad on a pedestal and him insisting he wasn't that high. Amber looks up to Bon Bon in my verse even though she's super smart because they probably played Pots and Pans Fan together when they were younger. I could picture the twins idolizing Ace. It fits so well!
