Sweetheart and Teddy: Friends or a couple?

Honestly, I think that it's more of a one-sided thing. sweetheart appears to like/care for Teddy, but Teddy doesn't seem to reciprocate that feeling, I've always thought that he's usually just grateful that Sweetheart has helped him out of whatever situation he's in. 
The comics portray them as secret friends with an 'I got your back' type relationship (In the comics, Teddy is attracted to Bon Bon, which the ending of 'Bon Bon's Diary' kind of implies).

Though perhaps they'd become a couple had MLPT continued, they really didn't give any indication that they were.
