MLP Tales season 3 episode 1: The Sea Ponies (Part 1)
“Hey, Starlight, wanna come in?” said Patch excitedly, diving into the clear blue water of the lake. It was a cold July morning, and Starlight and Patch had gone down to the lake. But while Patch clearly wanted to swim, being Patch, Starlight had wanted to find out if a certain story Ms. Hackney, her confidential adviser, had told her about before she left for the summer.
“It’s okay, Patch”, said Starlight; however her voice sounded to Patch as if it had a slight longing tone to it.
“Aw, come on, Starlight! Why waste your life away standing there when you can experience the thrill, the excitement, the adventure of swimming in a cold mountain lake on a July morning! Besides, it’s a great workout for everyone”.
“Bon Bon would agree with that” said Starlight, a smile crossing her face.
“Yeah, she would”, said Patch. She dived straight under the lake’s smooth, clear surface, drenching Starlight, then shot back out of the water. “Besides, last night I had a dream about something”.
“What exactly?” asked Starlight, her curiosity rising, even though she was drying herself with a towel she had brought along while sitting on a rock.
“It was where I was in a strange town,” said Patch, in her storytelling voice, which had a mystical and faraway tone to it. Starlight had to admit, however distracted Patch was in Ms. Hackney’s lessons, she was a very good storyteller.
“Yeah, then what?” asked Starlight, slightly desperately this time.
“Then, a pony walked up to me. Then, her six friends and some other ponies walked up to me” said Patch, continuing the story. “The pony looked just like me! And so did her six friends. But, there was one difference. We were all fat!”
Starlight gasped. “Wouldn’t that be one of those nightmares Bon Bon would have after she ate too much garlic, peperoni and anchovy pizza?” she said.
“Probably” said Patch, diving furiously back and forth to the point where Starlight was exhausted watching her. “But yeah, it reminded me, it’s pretty important to work out”.
“Agreed” said Starlight. “But what is that in the water?” she asked, pointing to a strange green and blue blurred blob under the water.
“What…” said Patch, who was almost ready to start the swim back to the shore. Then, she spotted the strange blurry blob. It was approaching the surface.
With a final splash, the green and blue thing emerged upon the surface of the lake.
“What is it?” wondered Patch.
