Since G4 has appeared, G3 has gotten some pretty negative feedback. Let's talk about what we like about this generation. For me, watching the G3 movies reminds me of being a kid. All the innocence and the overall better music along with characters that aren't arrogant like G3 Rainbow Dash vs G4 Rainbow Dash.

The childlike innocence is definitely something I like the generation for. It might not be for all people, and it really isn't fun when taken in huge amounts, but it really does wonders to brighten up a bad day.

I'm rewatching the movies day by day and it all comes back. When it comes to the toys, G3 had much more variety until their Core 7 line was released.

G3, out of all the generations, is definitely the most misunderstood. People like FiM because it's 'awesome' and since G3 isn't, they immediately diss it. Media can be great in different ways; G3 is not awesome, as bronies claim G4 to be, but is more like eating candy. It's sweet and notable, but often misunderstood by a large number of people.
I tried to rectify the G3 hatred by creating some reviews of the early specials and some of the movies (up to the 'Princess Promenade', I never finished that) on the MLP Arena last year, but it was extremely difficult to write reviews for movies such as 'The Princess Promenade' and so gave up. I might be able to finish them someday, though.

The one thing Bronies tend to forget is that G4 doesn't tell you how to start a friendship. G3.5 made it very clear. I've been rewatching the G3 song videos and tend to enjoy them more than G4.

I've never seen any of the G3 movies so I can't really make a fair judgment. When I get a moment, I'll take a look for myself because they really don't look as bad as the fandom says they are.
