This episode kind of fixed Sister of the Bride, by which I mean it finally gave Clover some well-deserved screentime, and gave Meadowlark some proper character development (Clover also received a great deal of development in this episode). Madame Percheron from Shop Talk is also back in her present-day form with a minor speaking role. Also, Ms. Hackney's odd questions return (The answer to her math question, by the way, is 50). Thoughts, anyone?

This was one of my favorite episodes of the series for the reasons you said: Clover got some development, Meadowlark wasn't a piece of cardboard, and we had all kinds of references to The Nutcracker! (Those were amusing, even though I've never seen the play.) I really love these episodes where we really get into the characters' heads, you know?
Clover was so adorable in this episode that she added 'cutesy wutesy' to my vocabulary. Poor Clo-Clo! But she got to shine at the end. I love how I wasn't the only one to notice Madame Percheron's glorious return. Another returning extra in this episode was Mr. Microphone (in other words, the announcer in Roll Around the Clocks) or at least his identical twin brother.
The amnesia scene was one of the best ones in the series, in my opinion! Oh, what silly, sometimes irresponsible girls...
