Okay, now time to get to the source of Lancer's loneliness: his parents. They're away a lot and I believe that it could be because of work that they couldn't bring him. After all, we have seen that with Jessie. Still, they haven't really been explored much in the show and even in the fandom. So without further adieu, let the headcannon begin.

I've seen that headcanon done well before, so I'd be inclined to agree. Even in the show, Lancer mentioned his parents' being at Shetland Springs, which just makes the idea more plausible.

Yes. I really like your interpretations, to be totally honest with you! They are dedicated to their son and yet care about their jobs. I personally don't have my own interpretation quite yet (I'll have to break out the Punnett squares to figure that out) but I don't feel pressured thanks to Heartbeat and Hard Drive.
I really, truly should think about it more, so I have something really interesting to say. Maybe that'll be one of my jobs tonight.

Definitely! Right now I'm having a heck of a time with guesswork for the Punnett squares for the parents' appearance, considering I have hardly any foundation on which my claims can be based. )8') At least the psychoanalysis will be easier... somewhat. Then I can figure out the best route to go.
It'll be steep, getting this all done by tonight with the psychiatry and all. I bet you had an easier time thanks to the lack of numbers at least. ('3(
