My mind has been officially blown. "Moki" is Lithuanian for 'solvent.' She solved Bright Eyes' misguided prejudice and was a very easygoing pony. Lithuanians are known for, according to Urban Dictionary, beautiful women, basketball and friendly people. They have beautiful water on their west coast. ...Those writers are geniuses. Pure geniuses. Basketball? I have Moki playing soccer. *facepalm* Still, my mind is blown.

She could just be athletic as a whole, though... right?
My mind's blown too.

Yeah I think you're giving the writers too much credit there, Notes! It's actually a Native American Hopi name, meaning deer (though usually given to a boy). I doubt anyone involved in Tales has Lithuanian roots. It is fun to make connections though, so it is cool to see that it does have an actual meaning in a language that fits (though to be honest I thought of its meaning as relating to chemistry first, haha). My Moki (we played our characters as anthro ponies, so more human-like) always wore super funky and weird clothing, regardless of what anyone would think. She listened to the weirdest music she could find and would make jewelry out of fish bones and driftwood. Now that I think about it, she was very similar in personality to Luna Lovegood (if you're familiar with Harry Potter). The major difference being that more people liked Moki. I played her younger brother the exact same way. They were fun!

But... Google Translate... it LIED TO ME!!! DX And those writers are some of my heroes! NO!
Ooh, Luna Lovegood. She was cool! (Interesting connection. It's been ages since I've seen Ponies in Paradise.) That Moki sure is adorable!

I knew I shouldn't have... but I trusted it anyway! l8o Good grief I'm a blockhead.
Once on YouTube, a message saying "wat" said that it had a translation from Google. Why would I trust them? I have no idea. *facehoof*

Google Translate is great if you know for sure what you're looking for, and have some knowledge of a language. For instance I use it a lot at work (sometimes I have to translate things into French for some of our customers) so it's good for me, because if it screws up I know and can fix it. Saves me time from having to remember proper sentence structure though! But yeah, if you're completely clueless it could totally mess you up.

Although it makes for good song parodies... Take Google Translate's version of "Let It Go" from Frozen for example.
Not very accurate, is it?

But yeah, assuming Google were correct, it really would make sense that her name would mean solvent.

It fits her, oddly, though. Again, she solved Bright Eyes' misguided prejudice with her calm, nice attitude. Definitely the type to solve problems of any sort. 8)
