Information from the comics
#39: She and Patch hang out after school to watch Prance Time. After missing a question on TV and needing to call a friend to find out what it was, her first phone call was to Ace! At school she sits all the way on the left, in the second row behind Ace and diagonally across from Patch. Melody wins a competition to visit PTV studios, and brings Patch and Clover with her. Melody keeps cough drops in her purse (which come in handy, as one of the performers on Prance Time that day - The Purple Ponies, has lost her voice).
#40: She takes ballet lessons in order to improve her dancing (to help with being a pop star). She's a natural at dancing - but her tendency to sing along to the music distracts the other students and Madame Percheron yells at her. She can do some hip hop dance moves and decides to do them in ballet class (she thinks highly of her dancing ability, calling herself "brill" - which I assume was English slang for brilliant in the 90s).
#45: Has a messy room! Reads comics. Her bedroom has green and yellow stripes on the wall with a red bed frame. Instead of working out a math problem using numbers, she applies it to real life experiences. Jing & Ting-A-Ling confirmed to be boys in this particular comic (there is a picture on their bedside table of a light blue pony with magenta hair - perhaps their father?). When she has to babysit the twins, she invites Starlight over.
#46: Flies stunt kites. Is good friends with Starlight in particular.
#48: She thinks that Patch's tree house would be the perfect place to write songs. She likes to make up her own secret code languages.
#49: She plays baseball (as the umpire).
#51: When she has to do manual labour (sweeping up leaves) she calls Patch to come help! The year prior Melody's house was flooded.
#217: Has to stay late after school because Miss Hackney caught her daydreaming (again - this happens a lot). Likes to tickle her little brothers - she has them just as hooked on Dazzle's PTV show as she is. She does help her mom make dinner (offering to help without being asked). She idolizes Dazzle (she thinks Dazzle is "the most wonderful little pony in the whole of Ponyland"). Her mom thinks Brighteyes is super responsible about school (Melody forgets her book in class, so Melody's mom has the idea of calling Brighteyes to borrow her book).
