As I woke up this morning I jumped to my calendar. March 16th is circled in red. Something is written on the day...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PATCH!
In Princess Problems, Patch says that her birthday is March 16th. How she knows about her birthday and not her birth parents is a mystery... do you have any theories? Will you celebrate it? I know I sure will! Aside from my usual writing like the Tales addict I am, I'll be watching a bunch of episodes about her and her friends. I'll also
Since it's been 22 years since Tales was on the air, does that make Patch thirty-two? If she's the same age as Sweetheart, or rather a bit older, then yikes, she is. A special day, if I may say so myself!

Yep, and still fairly young too.

Yeah! Just thinking about it, she could be married with kids right now. She might have a degree in something university-ish, and she has a job, perhaps a steady job, and some sort of house, and... I feel like I've missed something. )8,.

As far as I know on my side, she and her husband adopted.

Seems possible, as she herself was adopted. I don't think about the character futures because I like them being young, because not only can I relate more, but they were their ages in the show for a reason.

And what might that reason be?

So they can have those zany adventures of theirs! They're so innocent and fun in the show that I'd hate to take that away from them without the utmost best reasons. Plus drugs, war, sex, addictions, violence, sexism and all the rest would touch their lives... Plus they don't have the stresses of the bills to worry about.
At least partially, I'm sad because the adult characters would be really old, in their fifties or sixties, and who knows where Mr. Tidwell, Miss Hackney and Mr. Kiddoo would be...
I'm pretty attached to them, and don't want anyone, even the parents and otherwise secondary characters, to have any tragedy befall them.

This is a very good point, it really does give that show a sense of innocence.

That's what I mean. If they grew up, even just a few years, they could have totally different adventures. As adults they could hardly do any of what they do in the show. I read stories about them, but I always imagine them as their ten-year-old ages, even if they are college kids, with few exceptions. If they were older, they would have different adventures, and many worries so they couldn't be as happy.
Hence I keep them the age they were in the show, normally not adding or taking away a single year.
