Whom do you guys think would win? The Rockin' Beats or Rainbow Rocks in a competition?

Oh goodness, that'd be a tough one, but I'd be inclined to say the Rockin' Beats, almost on the grounds that they have special talents related to music and they've been in a Battle before. But then again, I haven't seen the entire Rainbow Rocks and won't for a while yet.

We really haven't seen the talents of either band. The Rockin' Beats and Rainbow Rocks have only thus far done one song.

Well, the Rainbow Rockers or whatever their name is going to be, have magical powers (sorta) so that kinda gives them the edge there. On the other hand, I could totally see the Rockin Beats somehow get their own set of magical powers and stuff through THE MUSIC, MAN! So basically its a tie. And is it bad to say that I sorta love them all (though AAR is practically Disney Princess levels of awesome).

Eh, not much into the Brony music scene. Don't hate them or anything, just don't listen to it any.

Tough question for my favorite songs. Partially because G1 proper is still alien to me. Then there's the difference between visuals and beats and lyrics. Overall...
G1: The beats from the four or so I've heard aren't my favorite, but it'd have to be "Please Stay Little Hobo." Tales: Sweet Music, Boys Boys Boys, When Fortune Smiled on Me, Juicy Story, Practical Jokes, Play Cool, Lessons, The Adventure, The Unforgettable Party and Off You Go. (I tried to narrow it down. I really truly did!) G3: That's What I Love about Christmas G3.5: Somewhere Super New G4: Winter Wrap Up, Cupcakes, Art of the Dress, Pinkie's Singing Telegram, At The Gala, Find A Pet, Flim Flam Brothers, Perfect Stallion, Smile song, BBBFF, Babs Seed, Helping Twilight Win The Crown, Strange New World, Hearts as Strong As Horses, Bats, Make A Wish, Find the Music In You and The Rappin His'try of the Wonderbolts.
The generations I regularly watch have a bunch, so if I rewatch some G3 I should have more opinions. Visuals are a totally different story...
The only fan music I hear is in Friendship is Witchcraft and The Mentally Advanced Series. Gypsy Bard and Tubby Wubby Pony Waifu stand out to me as my favorites, but it'd be like this.
Witchcraft: Pinkie's Brew, Sweetie's Big Race, Gypsy Bard, and It'll Be Okay Advanced S: Come to Pinkie's Basement, Rainbow Fun Factory and Tubby Wubby Pony Waifu. I love the Chin Up song form here too, but it's very repetitive.

Wow, there certainly is a lot more activity here than I previously thought. Favorite songs: G1: Call Upon the Sea Ponies, I'll Go It Alone, Pony Magic, Let the Bell of Freedom Ring, If I Don't Go Now, Hey Let's Play... the list goes on. Also, all the Tales songs (Seriously! Every single one of them has been stuck in my head at some point. The Tales theme is also my favorite song.) G3: Make a New Friend Everyday, Feeling Good, the Breezie song (both the first, second and reprise versions), the Rainbow Song, the G3 theme, Wish You Were Here, Shine On, and Positively Pink. G3.5: Somewhere Super New, That's What Makes a Friend, Dreams Do Come True. G4: Too many to chose from.

You guys aware of the MLP Tales DVD with the erronious artwork?

Yeah, there's plenty of Tales stuff (DVDs and VHSs) with erroneous G2 artwork on it. One even had what looked like a G2 version of Bon Bon on it! Also, the G2 DVD release of the G1 movie had some blurb on the back about the seven girls and Ace, Teddy, and Lancer on it even though they had nothing to do with the movie itself. So, yes, I am aware of it, although I recall an old VHS tape saying 'The NEW MLP Tales!' with Bright Eyes, Bon Bon, and Sweetheart (I think) on it in correct G1 form. Also, let's not forget the 2004 UK release with them correctly as G1s too.

It's unfortunate because it's lead to confusion over whether MLPT is G1 or G2, even though the cartoon makes it clear and there were no G2 cartoons.

Very unfortunate indeed. It's interesting how some people think the Tales cartoon is G2 (and I honestly respect their opinions) even though it's pretty clear that the characters have a G1 design. By the way, about your MLP Tales episodes, why was Clover in them so little? In the first season, she usually only had one line per episode. I'd like to know why you did this (although it's perfectly fine that you did, I'm just curious).
