These try to find new users and dupe them into downloading software that is NOT antivirus using a fake scan like the one in this pic. Whether you've seen them or not, this is a heads up since these can appear from anywhere. They generally also come with a message along these lines: The above message appears first, then you are redirected to page similar to the one in the first pic. The scan is FAKE because no computer could be scanned that quickly and moreover, no legit antivirus product is going to be so forceful for you to get their product and your internet isn't going to tell you that you are infected with viruses or whatever. Stay away from these and I recommend getting Web of Trust and more about that here: www.mywot.com/

Thank you for the warning, I'll keep my eyes open. Thing is, they can appear from even sites that look good so you might want to get Web of Trust, which will pretty much block these (unless they aren't rated). More on Web of trust here: www.mywot.comFTR, the "FAIL!" is not on the actual page if you vist them.

I don't need to worry about that because I like the legal things plus I like better the well known antivirus trademarks like symantec or eset.

My father has Norton 360 v. 3.0 on his computer, but I have Nod32 v. 3.0 on my laptop and on my winchester too.

I guess those are good enough but you'll still have to be careful about what sites you visit. No Antivirus gives you 100% protection.

I know that. Yesterday I was pissed of because I visited my account at my unii's website to sing up for the next semester and my browser the site is not safety because some kind of error and I needed to move on. I succesfully signed up for my next semester, but I hope they'll fix the error soon. You know I always wondered why people add their bank password on a fake site afther they got a fake e-mail in the name of their bank.

I think that people fall for it thinking it's their bank asking for this.
