Why is it a comb and not a teddy bear? I know he uses a comb in his hair but it doesn't fit with his love for a teddy bear or his name. All the others seem to have symbols that fit who they are except his.

That question bother me too for a long time like "How is it ossible that the ponies' name and symbol somehow fit to their personality, job or Hobby?"

I think a pony's symbol should make sense, which is true for most of the Tales gang and some of the G3 ponies but for others it's like, "What were they thinking?"

Well Comb is "motcho" in that aspect it fits the persona he trys to portray... But at the same time It brings a feal of "some ponies" going against their birthrights or not fitting in.
Who knows though, Teddy when he's grown up might take interest or show intrest in working at the Starlights moms shop as a hair stylest or barber. In which case the comb would fit in the end... Can't tell till he's older.

Teddy as hair resser? I can hardly imagine him in that job, the only thing I can imagine is that he asks Starlight to teach him to make different hairstyles so he could make Sweetheart's hair and save money at hairdresser.
