Clearly a pun off of the french word meaning candy (hence her symbol)

Also Bonbon in German means candy as well. I am 90% sure of it.

I wonder if we'll see other Tales pony conversions (assuming that's what this is here).

I've always thought of G4 "Bon Bon" as Sweetie Drops myself, even before I got into Tales. It's her official name; at least before fan pandering and the Gameloft game came into play. Once I watched Tales, I never really thought of Sweetie Drops and Lyra's dynamic the same way again; ArcaneFlame has me sold on his thoughts on the Lyra/Sweetie Drops and the Patch/Bon Bon dynamics being similar. More reminiscent, though, then anything.
Alright, Bon Bon's name is CLEARLY in place after the French/German/what-have-you word.
I've toyed around with her having a twin that was lost in the pregnancy, though I've never really gone into it. If she had a twin, though, her name would have been Caramella. A bit impertinent, but still sticking to the thread's purpose in a way.
