Asunder 17
Director Stevens relaxed in his chair looking at the large display in his office, the web cam linking him to the tactical room at the FBI, shaking his head in disappointment he spoke calmly. "I expected more from the FBI, have you heard anything from NSA or NCIS?"
"Nope, we have some of our best assets on this."
"I met with your agent Robertson, I was not impressed," The director spoke, "this facility is receiving full funding and sanction from the Senate."
"I know, but be aware, it can take some time to locate terrorists, some can stay hidden for years."
The director shook his head "This is surprising, this isn't some 3ed world country, or some case of a person hiding out in a cave with the help of triable elders."
"He will be found, he can't hide forever."

Jing-a-ling and Ting-a-ling sat watching with fascination, looking out the winter of the camper, their heads poking from behind the curtain. They had never seen ~ponies~ that big before. These were even bigger then the royal guard ponies who pulled the carriages of royalty back home. And their colors, rainbow manes were rare back home, but body colors were always uniform, these ~ponies~ had brown and white patterns in almost a jigsaw pattern.
"Wow." Jing-a-ling sad looking at her sister, "what you think her mark mean?"
Ting-a-ling looked at the blue hand print on her flank, with the circle around it, and the 3 red lines on her forleg and face "Not know. Wanna ask?"
"Not supposed to let human see us, member?" Jing-a-ling said.
Ting-a-ling looked at the ~pony~ then strained looking around a bit "She not human, she pony so it OK right?"
"Guess so."
Jing-a-ling and Ting-a-ling carefully opened the door of the trailer sneaking out, the night air was warm, and there was the scent of burning wood, carefully the twins crept up to the strange looking pony she had to be twice as high as their mom, maybe more. She stood one ear focused on the twins as the approached, swishing her tail.
Ting-a-ling sat in front of her "Hi, I Ting-a-ling, this Jing-a-ling, who you?"
The pony looked down at the twins and moved her head close sniffing and then blew in each of their faces. Wrinkling their noses, the twins looked at each other then at the same time blew back and giggled. Jing-a-ling tilted her head looking at the strange pony.
"Not speak to us?" Ting-a-ling asked almost sadly.
"Her name is Raindancer, she doesn't say much to strangers," The voice came from behind the twins.
Ting-a-ling and Jing-a-ling both jumped in fright and turned quickly, the ~pony~ Raindancer quickly moved between the man, and the 2 little ponies to protect them. She flagging her tail in warning before realizing who it was, relaxing a bit.
"Sorry Raindancer, didn't mean to scare you." The man looked old, older then other humans they had seen, he stood hold a large wooden staff that he used to feel the ground in front of him as he walked. He wore a jacket with tassels under the arms, and his grey hair was braided with a pair of feathers in them. "What has you littleones out so late?"
Ting-a-ling looked up at the human "Heard noises, then saw pony, never seen pony that big."
Raindancer nuzzled the twins gently, licking their heads causing them both to giggle.
"I see, she seems to have taken a shine to you two. I'm called Ghostowl." The man knelt a short distance from them, knowing better then to get close to Raindancer when she's acting protective.
"Jing-a-ling."
"Ting-a-ling." Ting said giggling, "why you out?"
"Talking to the great spirits." He said.
"Spirits?" they said together almost scared.
"Not bad spirits, good spirits, the spirits of the air, of the water, and earth. Spirits of the horse, owl, and bear." He said soothingly, then stood and headed off to a small smoking fire. Raindancer turned and walked over laying by the fire, relaxing.
Curious the twins came over and sat on the other side of the fire, the smell of the smoke filling the air and wisped around them. The man tossed some dust into the fire, filling the air with exotic scents, the fire built in intensity as the man started chanting softly, rhythmical in a strange language.
Raindancer moved her head so her neck was against the back of the twins, letting them feel her presence.
Ting-a-ling and Jing-a-ling looked at each other then at the fire, listening to the singing, the smoke seeming to take the forms of animals, they could make out birds, and horses in the smoke. "Ooo...." Ting-a-ling said with a giggle.
For a moment the smoke coalesced into a winged unicorn pony, her head turned to look at the twins blinking softly through the smoke her voice came "Its ok little ones, don't worry, were looking for you, Patch, Lancer, and Brighteyes are somewhere there, we'll find you."

Tina rolled over then sat up quickly "Dad! The twins are gone!"
