All the Wrong Notes
[Inside Melody's garage...]
Alright, we have less than two days before our next Battle of the Bands, let's keep practicing," said Melody.
"Melody's right, the next Battle of the Bands is going to be tougher than ever with all the new ponies from around the world participating.," said Tuneful. We need to be sure we have everything down to the last note. [Later that day...]
"Guess that's enough for tonight," said Melody.
"That's good, I can hardly walk," said HalfNote.
"Well see ya Melody," said Tuneful.
"See ya Tuneful," said Melody. *Everyone walks home* [The next day...]
"We're here, Melody, and ready to practice," said Tuneful.
"Me too," said Melody. A 1, 2...a 1,2,3! *They begin playing but HalfNote's guitar starts acting funny.*
"HalfNote, those aren't eh right notes," said Melody. Don't you know what they are?
"Yeah I do but it seems like there's something wrong with my guitar." said HalfNote. I can't seem to hit the notes properly.
"Did you perhaps put it near water?" asked Tuneful.
"It wouldn't be working if it were near water, Tuneful," said Melody.
"Sorry," said Tuneful.
"Maybe it was just a faulty start," said Melody. Try playing it again. *HalfNote plays but the notes are still wrong*
"Guess that didn't work, what're we going to do now?" asked HalfNote.
"We're going to have to fix your guitar in time for the Battle of the Bands," said Tunefiul.
"How?" asked Melody. We don't know the mechanics of guitars.
"True," said Tuneful. [Later...]
"I'll take it home and call you if there's anything," said HalfNote.
"Good idea," said Melody. See you guys later.
"See ya," said Tuneful and HalfNote. [The next day...]
"So, find anything?" asked Melody.
"Nope, not really," said HalfNote.
"Great, tomorrow's the Battle of the Bands and without that guitar fixed, we don't stand a chance!" said Melody.
"Maybe we'll have to come up with another song," said Tuneful.
"We don't know any other songs to play," said HalfNote.
"We'll just have to do our best," said Melody. [At the competition...]
"Alright fans, time for the second annual Battle of the Bands!" said Dazzle the PTV host. The meter here wi ll rise based on the audiance's loudness. First up, The Click Five! *The Click Five's band enters and begins playing*
"If we go out there, we'll be the next laughing stock," said HalfNote.
"No we're not, we're going to win," said Melody.
"Not with this guitar," said Tuneful. *The Click Five finish* *
"Let's hear it for this band!" said Dazzle. The crowd cheers and the meter rises two-thirds up.* Alright, next is Melody and the Rockin' Beats!
"This is it," said Melody. Here we go. *They cautiously enter te stage* *There is a short pause before they start playing* *Several crowd members snicker and laugh and the band stops playing*
"I was afraid this would happen," said Tuneful.
"Wait, I found the problem, a string was detached!" said HalfNote.
"Alright, let's win this!" said Melody. *They start playing and the laugher stops* *The crowd begins cheering before the band stops* *The meter rises to the top and shorts out*
"Well I think we've found our winners, the Rockin' Beats!" said Dazzle. Congrats, Beats, you've really earned it! *She hands a large 1st place trophy to Melody*
"HalfNote, I want you to have it," said Melody. If it weren't for you we would never have won this competition. *She hands HalfNote the trophy*
"Thanks, Melody," said HalfNote.
"No need to thank me, HalfNote, you were the reason we won," said Melody.
"You said it," said Tuneful. *The crowd claps*
