Like to think of this forum as more in hibernation more than anything. I'm sure it will resurrect sooner or later. Real life just has a nasty tendency to get in the way of things.

Thought it might be a cool idea to add/expand upon the Tales Trope page. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyTalesStart with maybe adding an image header of the logo from the opening with the words: Something is starting right now, something is starting, oh wow! Underneath. Maybe add in a few more tropes to the character page, add the Expy trope to the main page comparing the reusing of character archetypes (specially Shady from MLP n Friends and Clover Bloom) between shows, All There in the Manual, to the UK comics where the name of Ponyville came from, Alternate Continuity, given the vagueness of if Tales is supposed to be in the same 'World' as MLP n Friends or not, and maybe changing Unintentional Period Piece to the main page, pointing out stuff like the Jazzercise in Just for Kicks, or the Cassette player in Stand By Me, as well as stuff like PTV vs MTV and how it could have easily been even further dated (New Ponies on the Block anyone?). Also pointing out the Low Fantasy/urban fantasy/whatever the hell trope I'm looking for here to describe the magic flying ponies, the King and Queen of Pony land, and the maybe magic/mundane of Clover's predictive dreams. Also, Remember the New Guy should probably be added for Meadowlark as well. Also, figure fanworks and fanfic rec page would be nice to have as well, for some of the old sides and for the big list of fanfics that Notes's has been compiling. Not sure if What Could Have Been should be added or not, given that there (as far as I can tell) hasn't been any official word from George Bloom or Hasbro on if there were any plans on a official 2nd season or not. Maybe a page on the Tales UK comics should be made, after all the MLP n friends comics have a page (and character listing). Speaking of Bloom, thought it might be cool to add in a mention that he wrote nearly half the series, and was the creative consultant (whatever THAT means)/story editor, along with his role in writing the first two TV mlp specials and the 86' movie. I'd do it, but I have my own stuff to worry about and have little to no idea how to actually do any of that stuff on the Tropes site. What say you, guys? Any Trope savey Tales fans willing to take a crack at this?

It's a pity more then-current fans of MLP n Friends couldn't have also enjoyed Tales on it's own merits (although Hasbro actually selling the freaking toys in the U.S. might have helped some).

Maybe just Lumpy Hat would be better? ;D But another thing I like about Tales is how we never get an origin story for how the mane seven became friends, gives me a Bill and Ted, Back to the Future vibe.

Yeah, there's a reason why I refer to Bronycurious as Mr. Lumpy Brown Hat. Mostly because he isn't worthy of having his name pronounced correctly. And because Mr. Lumpy Brown Hat is fun to say.

I mostly got in through FiM, then tracked down the past episodes back when mlpfan's videos were still online and got into the series from there. As for why Tales specifically, I've always been a sucker for late 80s-early 90s stuff, and Tales is kinda the underdog of the Pony Gens with a bit of tragedy to it (oh the Giant robots can get three seasons but Tales is just stuck with one), which makes me have the feels for it. Also, I find the (ambiguous) child ages of the Tales cast to work better in a lot of way than the Mane Six's (ambiguous) young adult ages do. Basically, there's a groundedness to it that I just happen to really like about it. Also, I do a review/recap/commentary on Tales, just so you know. ;D forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?711230-Where-I-Watch-My-Little-Pony-Tales

What Hasbro should do is do what Big Finish audio did for the Sixth and Eight Doctors: Continue the lives of the Tales cast (set many years later obviously) in new stories (preferably longer than just ten minutes) and expand upon some of the stuff that never got a proper chance to expand upon (Teddy making a complete face turn from jerk to nice guy, Patch's strange destiny, what the deal with the Glow N show ponies are, ect).

Myself, I'm still putting my (microscopic) hopes that the MLP movie is a Multi Gen Crossover of some sort at some point.
