Yeah; I guess it would be more difficult to dream up decks for the Tales ponies, because they're on the same spectrum. The Mane 6 range from brainy to vain to athletic to hyper to shy... they aren't even comparable except for their core values. With the Tales characters, their personalities aren't as over-the-top and are more on the same spectrum, though they are each unique.
You're quite right about their decks, too. The basic math would probably be versatile, and plus, Starlight is a math whiz. I could picture Sweetheart healing her characters if she could. And if Bon Bon liked playing Yu-Gi-Oh, she'd be a closet fan of it, not telling anyone, but playing with one pony who happened to know about her hobby. 8) Coolio, though.

Discord is kinda easy too: A deck that would focus on messing up the opponent's strategy.

Precisely! I imagine Teddy would be the type to charge into things with the strongest, coolest-looking monsters he could find, though he wouldn't focus at all on defenses or strategy. ( 3

( 3 I figure he'd run monsters that have high ATK but low DEF and side-effects. Speaking of Discord earlier, there's an actual card with that name.

Wow, that's strange. I heard that there's one called Celestia or Princess Celestia or something. But I chuckled the same way I did at there being a Digimon called Pokomon.

There is a card called Celestia, Lightsworn Angel but it was out well before MLP FiM came to be as was the card previously mentioned.

Yeah, I suspected such! I think I saw a few people fooling around about it once, on DeviantArt or such. I figured that would be the case.

Ace might use cards related to sports.

If he liked them, then sure thing! And I bet he'd use some techniques he might use in the field in soccer/football. If there's a Yu-Gi-Oh equivalent of the Pokemon move Baton Pass, where all stat modifications on 'Mon 1 are transferred to 'Mon 2 when 'Mon 1 switches as it uses the move, Ace would use it.
What do you think for Lancer? I think he'd rely on his opponents underestimating him. But I don't know what types of cards he would use.

Lancer seems like the more cautious type. I bet he'd use a stall deck.

No idea what deck Ms Hackney would run though.

Me neither. Would she even like it? I could imagine her taking a passive interest just for the sake of relating with her class a little bit more.
