After I finished the girls and boys, I realized there was another main character I was forgetting!
This is a much younger than you are used to seeing Miss Hackney being courted by a dapper young Mister Kadoo.
I also think may very well be the first fan art of these two ever made, at least on the internet! Heh.
Alright, so we know Miss Hackney, whose first name we never learn and whom I would not like to create a name for. So. How about we give these two star crossed characters nicknames?
She's not a career driven girl in the traditional sense. She's not looking to achieve fame and fortune, notoriety or influence in the direct sense. She has a much deeper drive to teach. (It's almost like she was born for it, what with the little chalkboard butt, eh?) So much so that she will eventually decide to forgo the traditional life of marriage and children but it never even felt like a decision to her. It was the eventuality and the meaning teaching brings to her is powerful. She has no regrets.
But she does have a suitor, one with the patience of a saint.
He calls her his sunshine. He's a dirigible enthusiast. (how often does one get to use this word? Not often enough!) His passion is just as strong. And he loves a sunny day.
He also loves Sunshine.
But she has greater works to attend and he will quietly accept this position. Happily even. She says his persistence is remarkable. And she eventually calls him Percy for short.
And through the years, they meet and part ways often, both dedicated to very different lives but they cherish the moments they sometimes share.
But, there is one advantage to having a relationship that never leaves the courting phase! They get to stay in puppy love throughout their lives. Even the day Miss Hackney takes her students out to learn about the physics of aerodynamics, their flirting seemed on the level of giddy giggles and awkward glances that her young students could relate to.
On this day in the picture, long ago, but not so long ago, she has turned to leave after their rendezvous. Her coy backward glance invokes a corny wave from his brow. Til next time, Sunshine.

This was my very first pony picture done using the photoshop pen tool. I wanted to see how it would look, get a little practice doing it. I drew this right after I finished the Melody picture. It wasn't "processed" until just last week.
