(This is a crosspost from the arena)

Here is Patch, and a story too! Everyone seemed to like the story a lot from last time, so I wrote one for Patch too. Enjoy.
Patch and Buddy had been friends since they were baby ponies. Patch was a tomboy and was something of a novelty to the boy ponies. Which is the main reason it took so long for her to realize one of them "liked" liked her. ^_~
When an event came along where he could spend time with her, Buddy took the opportunity. He rarely got to see Patch during a school day, since he was a year older and in a different grade, but he was intrigued since the first time he'd met her. So when the roller dance competition came along, Buddy leapt at the chance to be paired up with Patch. But Patch can't help but be herself and they just ended up having fun playing hockey. They were quickly disqualified.
But the ice was broken and the two started hanging out a lot more.
Despite his feelings, Buddy was still shy and was oblivious to the reality if he did nothing to show her how he felt, he could miss his chance altogether.
Patch was used to the attention from the boys. But they only ever wanted her to be one of the guys. She didn't mind, she kept her days filled with school sports and fun. But their interest never seemed to be more than pals and this is also how she saw poor Buddy.
The day she graduated from high school she was already one hoof along on her journey out of town to follow the carnivals, circus and adventure. When Buddy showed up at her door that night to ask her not to go, his feelings were a startling surprise to her. It was if she was meeting him for the very first time, it was such a different side than she was used to.
Confused and not knowing what to do because she had never thought of him that way, she stammered she had to go and closed the door. To travel and have that lifestyle was something she had wanted all her life and this train would not be back until fall. Buddy bowed his head in disappointment and wished her well.
Patch spent that night staring into space and confused at this doubt she now had. Morning came all too soon but she was not going to miss this chance. She kissed her mom and dad farewell and she promised to write often.
Patch opened the door, closed it behind her and almost tripped over something. It was Buddy. He had been lying at her door since before dawn, a suitcase under his chin and sleeping deeply from his night of rushed packing. Under his arm was a train ticket.
She and Buddy joined the traveling carnival for awhile and learned the trades. Patch became a star performer and gradually taught Buddy how to be a performer too. Buddy was motivated to do whatever made Patch happy.
Patch was the first of her friends to get married and to have a baby pony. Nowadays, Patch, Buddy and their son Chip work in the Berry Patch Circus, Ponyland's best traveling circus, with Patch's business partner Cherry Berry. Chip is a natural acrobat and loves being in the acts and is quickly becoming famous in his own right.
Today, the Berry Patch train has stopped in Willow Grove and will soon set up nearby for a week of fair, food and fun. Patch, Buddy and Chip practice their family juggling act in a nearby field. And it's a beautiful day for a circus.

A few things to mention. I worked longer than I should have on the circus badge for the train. So, I am posting a larger version of it here. It's so SMALL on the train you can't see it! And I know Chip there looks nothing like his parents, but they both have bright colors, so I wanted him to have bright colors too. And once again, thanks to my hubby for making the train and the train station there. :lovey:
